Baby Crochet Mittens Beginner Free Pattern

The cold season is gone i know , but we crocheters when you want to crochet but don’t have time or enough yarn, i choosed to work on those cute little mittens even if my babies won’t wear them now, and i wanted to share with you this very easy pattern .


Those cute mittens were made for my 1 year old twins .

1. YOU WILL NEED

• 3.5 mm crochet hook

• 2 colors of your choice of DK yarn (less than 50g of each) 

• Yarn needle, pair of scissors. 

2. STITCHES

• Sc = Single Crochet

• Dc = double crochet / hdc = half double crochet

• Sl st = slip stitch

• Dc2tg = double crochet 2 together

3.     PATTERN

R 1 : Begin with a magic circle

– 12 dc into the magic circle, join with a sl st.

R 2-ch2 , 2 dc  in every st of the last row, sl st, .

R 3 : – ch2 , *2 dc ,1dc*  repeat in every st around, sl st.

R 4 : – ch2, 1 dc in every st around,sl st* do the same for the next 4 rows .

R 9 : – ch2 ,* 1dc in the next 3 sts, 1dc2tg* repeat until the end of the row,sl st .

in this row we will make small gaps for the lace : ch 2 , *1 hdc in the next st ,ch 1, sk one st, 1 hdc in the next st *repeat until the end of the row

R 10 : – * 1Fpdc,1Bpdc * Repeat until the end of the row.

R 11 & 12  : same as the row 10 , at the end of row 12 sl st and fasten off.


Make a ch of 80 sts to make a small lace or you can simply use Ruban .
